Position: Sales and Customer Service Insurance Representative

Job Purpose: Handle client inquiries, triage calls, conduct initial prospect intake, provide quotes, and address policy-related queries. Ideal candidate will have two (2) years of customer service experience, strong communication skills, pleasant telephone manner, and ability to work independently. A successful candidate will handle various tasks including appointment setting, preparing quotes and proposals, managing renewal reminders, and other administrative functions.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Must have experience working in relevant industry – eg. Insurance, sales, customer service, banking/finances, law office, etc.
  • Must be able to work independently, organize, and manage tasks efficiently
  • Customer-centric approach with a passion for delivering high-quality service to customers and prospects – this includes a positive demeanor and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and demonstrate openness to coaching and training
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Licensing or certifications related to the insurance industry are advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Helps the long-term success of the agency by following the agency’s guidelines and operational processes.
  • Coordinate and manage renewal reminders and cancellation notices for existing clients to ensure continuity of coverage.
  • Handle client billing and service inquiries, including triage incoming requests, conduct prospect intake, call prospects with quote details.
  • Coordinate with underwriters and insurance carriers to ensure new policies are bound properly and client payments are processed.
  • Maintain records of interactions and policy endorsements with clients and carriers
  • Collect, organize, and process loss run data for commercial client assessment.
  • Maintain agency State licenses and ensure agency compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry changes, trends, and regulations to ensure accurate and informed client consultations; participate in educational opportunities and maintain professional network.
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support.
  • Occasionally collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies, promote new insurance contracts, or suggest modifications to existing ones; serve as intermediary between carriers and social media contractors to ensure brokerage marketing is in compliance and up-to-date.
